The 11th Annual East Coast Charity Ball Gala Dinner was held at 99 Sudbury with proceeds going to “Daytrippers Children Charity” http://daytrippers.ca/A big thank you goes out to Simon Partington President of East Coast Connected and Peter Zygouris for the invite and great hospitality. Daytrippers is a non-profit children’s charity formed by a group of young professionals wanting to give back to the community. They raise funds for trips to recognized educational and cultural institutions for school groups in the lower-incomes and far-reaching areas. They target students in Grades1-8 and assist students in need from school boards across Ontario, B.C., Alberta, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and New Brunswick. The charity has raised over $1.6m and sent over 140,000 children on educational school trips. East Coast Charity Ball’s support since 2004 has raised over $150,000 for Daytrippers. A silent auction with authentic autographed sports gear, clothing and East Coast products were on display and auctioned off during the night. It was an evening of East Coast hospitality and East Coast music. A great main course dinner consisting of Pumpkin gnocchi and braised short ribs, fall mushrooms and saffron broth was served. For dessert: a classic lemon tart with honey lemon glaze and mixed berries was a great dish to serve after the meal. The evening lasted til 2am in the morning and it appeared the majority of the people stayed right til the end. The combination of live East Coast music and a spirited D.J. had the crowd dancing on the main dance floor. We can’t wait for the 12th Annual EASTCOAST Charity Ball Gala.
