Honda Indy 2 in TO – Sunday July 20, 2014

by A.J. Lam

In a double-header Indy Car Sunday in Toronto, after persistent rain on Saturday caused a postponement of the first race of two at the 2.8 km, 11-turn temporary road course at Exhibition Place, Sebastien Bourdais and Mike Conway were the victors. Bourdais’ victory, from pole position, was his first in six years of Indy Car racing while Conway became a two-time Indy Car winner this season, with his first at Long Beach.

Conway, who started 11th, was able to win the collision-filled second race by continuing racing without a late pitstop. Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan were the other podium placers for the first race. Tony Kanaan was second and Will Power came third in the second race. Oakville native James Hinchcliffe did poorly by finishing eighth in race one and crashing in the second race.
