3rd Annual CAFA Awards@Fairmount Royal York(Fri.,April 15th,2016)

The 3rd annual CAFA gala was held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, and was hosted by actress Kim Cattrall of “Sex and the City, Sensitive Skin and Ghost Writer” fame. The 2016 red-carpet Awards show on Friday, April 15th, 2016 – was a unique evening that brought together Canadian talent and fashion influencers from all over the world, honouring designers, models, image makers and stylists.
Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, along with supermodels Coco Rocha and Karlie Kloss, were among the famous faces in attendance at the CAFA Awards, which recognize homegrown talent within the arts and fashion community.
Elle Macpherson was also recognized with the vanguard award. The Australian former supermodel was honoured for her contribution to the fashion industry.

Here were the winners of 2016 CAFA Awards:
Greta Constantine — Marked their 10th anniversary and were recognized with womenswear designer of the year honours for duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong.
Vancouver-based label Wings + Horns were named menswear designer of the year.
Mercedes-Benz Start Up winner UNTTLD was victorious at the CAFAs. The Montreal-based label by Jose Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Belanger was recognized with the emerging talent in fashion design award.
Lauren Klassen, Montreal-based designer took home the prize for emerging talent in accessory design.
Byron and Dexter Peart, Ottawa-born twins were winners once again in the accessory designer of the year honours for their brand WANT Les Essentiels.
Frank & Oak received the fashion innovation award.
Annie Horth, longtime stylist of Canadian pop superstar Celine Dion, received stylist of the year honours.
Ottawa-raised Herieth Paul was named model of the year, while Adam Butcher received the new/fresh face award.
Home grown-Toronto-based designer Laura Siegel was honoured with the fashion impact award,
The Coveteur received fashion blogger of the year honours.
Ryerson University graduate Hamish Thwaites was honoured with the fashion design student award.
Photographer Gabor Jurina was named image maker of the year.
CAFA is joining forces with the Toronto Maple Leafs on a program that will seek two fashion designers to create men’s and women’s collections for the 2017-18 NHL season.
Legendary Canadian designer Wayne Clark was recognized with an Outstanding Achievement Award.
Creative Jason Wu has added to his lengthy list of accomplishments with the Canadian Arts & Fashion Award.
The award-winning New York-based designer was named international Canadian designer of the year at the CAFA gala in Toronto on Friday.
Wu’s high-profile clients includes Michelle Obama. The wife of U.S. President Barack Obama.
The after party started on time with Kardinal Offishall DJ-ing and hosting the festivities for the rest of the evening. Patrons were treated to the beautiful decor of the party room, signature beverages, vendors giving out samples, make up artists and savoury food. A fun time for all and we look forward to next year’s edition of CAFA Awards 2017.
