Canadian Music Week 2016(CMW2016)@Toronto(May2nd-8th,2016

Canadian Music Week now in it’s 34th year is recognized as one of the premiere entertainment events in North America focusing on the business of music. The Canadian Music Week festival ran for 7 nights of performances, with hundreds of showcasing bands at more than 40 live music venues in downtown Toronto. All convention functions took place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West, Toronto. We were privilege to attend events such as: The Crystals, Generation Axe Concert, The Music and Broadcast Industry Awards and The 19th annual Canadian Radio Music Awards

The winners of the 19th annual Canadian Radio Music Awards¸which took place at the Sheraton Centre Hotel.The Canadian Radio Music Awards celebrates Canadian artists who have gained significant momentum on Canadian radio over the past year. The show featured special performances by The Strumbellas, Coleman Hell, Ria Mae, Cold Creek County, Scott Helman, and Jocelyn Alice.

Nominees included artists who hit the Canadian charts for the first time last year and achieved top airplay in different formats. Votes were cast by program directors, music directors, and on-air personalities determined the winners. Radio listeners from across the country also voted online for the Fans’ Choice Award at cmw.net.

Three additional non-voting awards were also presented at this year’s ceremony: The FACTOR Breakthrough Award, for top airplay for new FACTOR-supported artists, went to Leah Daniels; the Sennheiser Chart Topper Award for top overall airplay was awarded to Shawn Mendes, and the Heatseeker award was presented to The Strumbellas.
