It was a hot and humid night by the lakefront for a Friday night CFL game featuring a week 8 match up between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Toronto Argonauts. Winnipeg’s Clarence Denmark was unstoppable, while the Bombers picked off Toronto’s QB Logan Kilgore five times to earn a 34-17 win over the Argos on Friday night at Toronto’s BMO Field.
Winnipeg’s first-year defensive back Kevin Fogg had two interceptions and a fumble recovery in yet another dominant performance for the Bomber defence, helping the Bombers win their third in a row and get back to the .500 level.
Maurice Leggett also had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, as the Blue Bombers expanded on a league-leading 21 turnovers.
Overall a lackluster game by the Argos as former Argo and present head coach of the Blue Bombers out maneuvered his former team but Toronto has next Saturday in a meeting against the Edmonton Eskimos on Aug. 20. Maybe they can get out of their “funk” against Edmonton Eskimos as the CFL reaches the midpoint of the season.
