For 33 years Toronto’s Great Valentine’s Gala has provided hope and opportunity for Canadians living with a disability. On Sat, Feb 11th, 2017, the CFPDP (Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons) hosted its 33rd annual gala! CFPDP founder Vim Kochhar summarized it “The Great Valentine Gala is where it all began for our foundation and on Feb 11th we’ll be marking 33 years of extraordinary partnership and progress in the service of a great cause. I think that’s cause for celebration.”
CFPDP has raised over $30 million since it began in 1985 and with the capacity crowd filling the event on Saturday, we’re very sure the evening raised a generous amount of money for the noble cause! The host of the evening was the energetic Suhana Meharchand of CBC News Network.
Some of the high lights were Honourable David C. Onley Award recipient: Honourable Chantal Petitclerc, King Clancy Award recipients: Rio 2016 Paralympics Medal Winners! This included Aurelle Ricard. 9 time swimming gold medal winner accepting an award. Corporate Award Winner: Cisco Canada, accepted by Bernadette Wightman and Tim Horton’s accepted by Sami Siddique.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by The Caverners, Canada’s longest running Beatles tribute band. There were raffles, door prizes, dancing and mingling throughout the evening.
