Culture is the lifeblood of any city, and Toronto is a thriving center where it flourishes. Opera doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves, but the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio is out to change that, dedicated to reminding everyone how relevant, cool and stylish opera can be. And that’s just what they did with the 13th Annual Operanation, their prestigious fundraiser in celebration of the arts.
It was a night of music, culinary experiments, libations and musical hybrids that transformed the three floors of Toronto’s Opera House into a place of extravagance and curiosity.
Never settling for the ordinary, this year’s event which took over the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts was no exception. The theme was A Night of Curiosities, where the soiree was packed with Toronto’s most stylish individuals who really showed off that they can dress to impress on the red carpet.
Canadian iconic musician/performer Kiesza dazzled the sold out crowd with her hits, accompanied by her two operatic singers. Included in this yearly bash were fashion, great food, signature beverages and amazing people watching!
It wasn’t all about the fashionable people though, as mentioned patrons were treated to a performance by Juno Award-winning Kiesza. Flanked by 2 opera singers with some amazing vocal ranges, the total highlight of the night was the performance which had the crowd on the 3 floors, dancing up a storm. The traditional event is always a fun and great way to party inside the Opera House.
