DX Intersection 2018 @ Design Exchange, Thurs. Nov 8

Each year, the annual Design Exchange Party celebrates individual Canadians and partnerships that demonstrates exceptional creativity, outstanding talent, and innovative vision.
On November 8, prominent Canadian talent and guests transformed the historic DX building in the heart of the Financial District to showcase the future vision of design and cultural experiences. Guests were treated to signature beverages and food stations that were positioned all over the upper level of the hall, while the DJ tracks kept the patrons on the dance floor all night long.
The 2018 DXI Awardee was Oliver El-Khatib, who co-founded OVO with hip-hop artist Drake and Noah “40” Shebib. Oliver has created a brand that has international influence.
Oliver El-Khatib, Based in Toronto, Oliver is OVO’s strategist-in-chief, and through his decade of leadership he has quickly ascended the cultural ranks as a respected tastemaker and curator who effortlessly moves across creative disciplines. He has been instrumental in brokering partnerships with iconic Canadian brands including Roots and Canada Goose, as well as clinching collaborations with Jordan Brand and Apple Music, where he hosts a show that serves as a platform for emerging talent.

Established in 2012, DX Intersection is a fundraiser for Design Exchange, all proceeds going to supporting our children and youth programs.

DXI brings together 1,000 globally-minded art, fashion and design practitioners, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for an evening celebrating all things creative. DXI has previously awarded iconic Canadians including Douglas Coupland, MAC Cosmetics co-founder Frank Toskan, and Monocle’s Tyler Brulé.
