Canadian R&B funkstress and soul powerhouse Kolette Easy is taking players to task, singing they just “keep you hooked and holding on.” Same goes for listeners as they hit repeat on the singer/songwriter’s fire new track and video for “PLAYA (Dance Remix)” — available now!

A remix from her debut release — 2018’s Believe — the house’d up hit amplifies Kolette’s brand of musical magic in this highly danceable and brilliant soul and R&B vibe.

As an Etobicoke School of Arts alum, Kolette Easy has performed extensively throughout Canada, the US, and Southeast Asia, and earned a standing annual invite to the Rochester International Jazz Festival. She’s a gifted writer and kinetic performer, and those sparkling vocals and simmering stage persona have parlayed into sharing the stage with the likes of Community Soul Project, Tower Power, Caravan Palace, Saidah Shakura, Liberty Silver, Fitz and the Tantrums, and more.

“The video was filmed in the photography studio of my long-time friend, Rohan Laylor of Phat Dog Visuals, bless his heart!” Kolette says of the scene shooting “PLAYA (Dance Remix).” “It was shot and produced by a team of amazing and talented sisters Teri and Leslie at HypeteamTO.

“And my mom was also on set giving direction because she thought this was part of her role on the support team,” she continues, laughing. “She totally got into the whole shoot.

“The song speaks to all my ladies and even the fellas who have ever been played. The groove is one you can’t help but move to — it’s deep and dirty!

“It’s a song I wrote a very long time ago, and it’s been revamped so many times, I lost track! When I was doing the album with Eddie Bullen, I thought it was the perfect time for a resurrection. When I heard his remix, I was like ‘Damn!’ I just loved it!”

“PLAYA (Dance Remix)” and Believe are available now.

Powerhouse soul singer and songwriter, Kolette Easy, may be from Toronto, Canada but she quickly found herself right at home touring and performing across the globe in Southeast Asia for several years. While touring internationally she transcended barriers of language and culture with her voice and music. For Kolette venturing out of her comfort zone to fulfill her passion for singing has been one of her greatest musical achievements.

This fearlessness and boldness is exactly what took her across the seas and far away from all that she knew to fulfill her passion for singing. Upon listening to the advice of her mentor, Kolette decided to take a leap of blind faith, leave her day job and pursue a career singing full‐time internationally. For the next several years she toured and became a highly sought after performer throughout Southeast Asia.

In between performances, Kolette is in the studio diligently recording. Working side‐by‐side with legendary producer Eddie Bullen, the two crafted material for her 2018 album, Believe. To date she has released five successful singles all displaying her musical versatility. Her first release entitled “You Me Her” is a club banging R&B track about a complicated love triangle. This was followed up by “In The Meantime”, a jazz infused neo soul single also written by the songstress. This song is one of inspiration and motivation when in the midst of life challenges. The remix to this single took on a completely different edge infusing the sounds of techno and dance. Next, the classic up‐beat 90’s dance track “Here I Am” became the first real taste of the vocal power and soul Kolette’s voice possesses. In 2016, Kolette released the song “Black Lipstick”. Showcasing just how multitalented and involved in her artistry Kolette really is, all the lyrical content to these songs were written by her.

With the original mix released on her 2018 album, Believe, Kolette Easy’s song “PLAYA” is now coming back as a hot dance remix. “PLAYA (Dance Remix) is officially released worldwide and is available from Thunder Dome Sounds, Slammin Media and distributed by Believe Distribution.
