We had the privilege to be invited to the 7th annual Daughters for Life gala. Established in 2010, the Daughters for Life Foundation creates accessible education opportunities for young women from the Middle East and helps them become strong, well-informed women that are able to speak up and change their communities and the face of the world. All funds raised are directed towards empowering young Middle Eastern women through education.

The aim is to make a change in the Middle East by empowering women through education and providing them with the opportunity to study in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and beyond.

The Master of Ceremony for the gala was- Carol Off and those who were honoured were :Dr. Jean Augustine, The Trailblazer Award
Dr. James Orbinski, The Leadership Award.
Mindy Corporon, The Courage and Inspiration Luminary Award.
During the dinner, there was a Special Performance by FORTE Band with its fusion between oriental and occidental music.

Daughters for Life “DFL” was established by Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, an internationally recognized advocate for peace, and a five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, in memory of his daughters Bessan, Mayar, and Aya and their love of life and learning and their hopes and dreams for a better educated world.

DFL creates accessible education opportunities for young women from the Middle East, through strategic partnership with academic institutions and support of donors, to help them uncover their powerful potential to be the voices of equality, leaders of development, and agents of change in their communities.
