Day#9 Of TIFF -Fri.,Sept.16th,2022
Well rested and looking forward to the morning screeners, we arrived at the theatre at 9am.
TIFF22-The Good Nurse-September 16, 9 am
An intriguing film based on a true story of a caring compassionate nurse, Amy, warmly portrayed by Jessica Chastain, a rogue nurse, Charles, expertly portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, and hospital bureaucracy with unexpected patient deaths.
First, Amy becomes suspicious that these sudden deaths of apparently improving patients were not due to natural causes. Subsequently, homicide detectives Danny Baldwin (Nnamdi Asomugha) and Tim Braun (Noah Emmerich) struggle to solve the cause of these mysterious deaths due to stonewalling by the hospital’s administration. As Amy does her own investigation, she discovers that her new friend, Charles, may be the culprit, and aids the detectives to prevent even more untimely deaths and murders.
Next on the agenda was one the Korean entries for TIFF 2022.
Hunt is a exciting shoot ’em up and Rock ‘em sock ‘em action movie, but also an espionage mystery. The directorial debut from Squid Game’s Lee Jung-Jae, who also stars, is set during the 1980’s as tensions between North and South Korea mount. In South Korea, government agents are attempting to expose the identity of a mole nicknamed Donglin, who has been delivering secrets to the North. This “HUNT” involves various agencies and operations.
There are some great chase scenes, there are double crossings and questionable loyalties as pretty much everyone is shooting at everyone. Uncovering Donglin’s true identity kept the characters in the film on their toes, setting them on a path involving shootouts, car chases, and much bloodshed right till the end of the movie. Action packed from start to the end.
