The opening party was held on November 30th, with the first public performances to begin December 1! 
It totally was a party atmosphere, with red ribbon cutting ceremony, balloons, a dj to keep guests on the dance floor, food, and great hospitality to welcome The Second City back to downtown Toronto.

Some of the familiar faces in the entertainment world who attended the grand opening included: Ann Pornel, Andrew Phung, Maureen Bradley, Naomi Snieckus and Eric Bauza.

The new location has three theatres and nine studio training classrooms at the 28,700-square-foot new location on the third floor of One York St.

The Main Stage Theatre has a capacity of 244 and Theatre ’73 seats 170. The John Candy Box Theatre incorporates part of the stage from Second City’s Old Firehall location.

Second City’s courses and workshops has everything from beginner’s improv to sketch comedy writing to voiceover acting, and more.
