By A.J.Lam

The Lunar New Year of the Rabbit was elegantly ushered in by the 34th edition of the Dragon Ball, in support the Yee Hong Foundation and its state-of-the-art and much praised seniors homes, with 1000 generous patrons enjoying a sumptuous 4-course dinner, with a preceding grand reception of delicious delights from avant-garde chefs, Trevor Lui, of Double Happiness Cookbook, Baobird and Superfresh, Wallace Wong, known as the “Six Pack Chef,” Eva Chung, of “Preserve Indulgence,” and Eva Chin, of “Soy Luck Club,” while being entertained by amazing internationally-acclaimed magician Louis Yan, Hong Kong’s David Cooperfield, specially flown in by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office,  Kulkat Entertainment’s sensational colourful dancers, and by Yee Hong seniors with Parkinson’s Disease doing a special dance performance.

“Dragon Ball is the signature annual benefit gala for Yee Hong Foundation. It is one of Toronto’s premier gala events and the largest fundraising gala in North America celebrating Chinese New Year. Every year, you’ll find a who’s who of the Greater Toronto Area’s top business, political and community leaders in attendance.

Throughout the evening, patrons are greeted with a variety of exquisite cuisines in addition to the four course gala dinner, while the silent and live auctions present guests with opportunities to acquire unique items or experiences.

Proceeds from the event go to support the culturally and language appropriate care and services provided by Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care to seniors of various ethnic backgrounds in the GTA.”
