This was an innovative student literary program called Shakespearience and in attendance was creative advisor, Colm Feore (The Umbrella Academy, Bon Cop, Bad Cop) and active contributor, HAMILTON star, DeAundre’ Woods, at a Toronto press day.
In the face of growing pressure to eliminate Shakespeare’s plays from the curriculum, Feore, Woods and Shakespearience’s Executive Director, Marvin Karon participated in a live workshop with grade 10 students of Toronto’s Bishop Marrocco Secondary School – examining the connection (and relevance) of Shakespeare’s work to emotional intelligence and mental health in today’s world.

Celebrating its 25th year guiding students, this dynamic non-profit has hundreds of moving testimonials from teachers, parents and students reporting rewarding and multi-dimensional outcomes from their own experiences with Shakespearience, notably among at-risk, under-resourced, ESL, and students who identify as being on the spectrum or with mild learning disabilities.
We would like to thank Dillon James Public Relations for the invitation to this event.
