Pink Floyd Exhibition Toronto  –  Their Mortal Remains

At The Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place

The date has finally arrived!  The Pink Floyd Exhibition which has been to London at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Madrid Spain, Los Angeles, Montreal, Rome and Dortmund, Germany

And now it opens in Toronto on June 16th!  And the Pink Floyd fans are ecstatic! The Pink Floyd Exhibition has a fantastic collection of memorabilia, concert props, artifacts, video presentations, music clips, concert clips, interactive displays of the British psych-rock band. Each of these highlights the band’s music, the musicians’ backgrounds and their impact on the music industry. Each room of the Pink Floyd Exhibition emphasizes a different album – you’ll be able to decide which is your favourite display and reminisce about the times you first listened to those albums or went to those concerts. Audio headsets produce excellent music to go along with the show. The final room transforms to a concert – with concert clippage and the music from the audio headsets – you feel like you are there at the concert!

At the Press Conference Darrell Brown explained the significance of the Pink Floyd Exhibition being held at the CNE grounds. Reason being that Pink Floyd performed 7 times at the CNE!  Darrell Brown, CEO of CNEA whose many past accomplishments include staging acclaimed art exhibitions, stated that there’s a lot of connection with Pink Floyd to Toronto and a creative connection as well.

Hosting the press conference was David Marsden (CHOM – Montreal, CHUM-FM, NYthespirit.com). He was the DJ who played The Dark Side of the Moon on the air 4 days before its release. A petition with thousands of names for Pink Floyd to come to Toronto, then was all organized and the concert sold out in less than 29 minutes! Thanks to Marsden, we had Pink Floyd in Toronto!

The panel members included – Bob Ezrin, award-winning producer of Alice Cooper, PHISH, Aerosmith, Lou Reed and many others. Ezrin the producer of 3 Pink Floyd albums – The Wall, A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell.

Michael Cohl – legendary concert promoter who promoted really every major concert in Toronto 1973 – 1995 and every Pink Floyd concert in Ontario. Now at S2BN Entertainment and Executive Producer of the Pink Floyd Exhibition. Cohl referred to the Pink Floyd Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, UK saying it received 5 star reviews from all media as soon as it opened.

Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell, Creative Director for Pink Floyd and for the Pink Floyd Exhibition. One of the most well-known, accomplished album cover designer creating album covers for pop Wish You Were Here and The Dark Side of the Moon. Along with Storm Thorgerson, he founded Hipgnosis collaborating for many famous album covers from Zeppelin to Floyd.  Po described finding some memorabilia for the exhibition found in dusty boxes in a garage including handwritten lyrics and huge blow up concert props.

It was an honour to have such successful music professionals at the opening of the Pink Floyd Exhibition. The best of the music business.  The Pink Floyd Exhibition is one not to miss. Catch it while you can and have a couple of hours to enjoy every aspect of Pink Floyd! Enjoy the concert! Extensive gift shop at the end for all your Pink Floyd needs!
