Starlight Children’s Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary at the prestigious Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Beloved superheroes and toy characters like Spiderman, Captain America and Stormtroopers warmly welcomed celebrities and supporters to the 25th annual Starlight Canada gala, “Power of Play.” Guests immersed themselves in the joy of childhood through interactive games, yo-yo performances, raffles, silent and live auctions and a Barbie Box photo booth.
Television personality Rick Campanelli hosted this silver anniversary celebration presented by Toys “R” Us® and Babies “R” Us® Canada. The Mississauga Children’s Choir and Multi-Platinum Selling Recording Artist and Actor Tyler Shaw performed for this sold-out event.
One of the evening’s most heartwarming moments unfolded during the Wish Auction. Numerous companies, touched by the Starlight mission, came forward with passionate support. A grand total of 60 wishes were generously donated to grant special wishes for Starlight children, creating magical moments that would be cherished for a lifetime. Toys “R” Us® and Babies “R” Us® Canada donated 25 wishes, marking their dual milestone of 25 years of unwavering support for Starlight Canada.
The Starlight Canada gala, “Power of Play,” marked the incredible work that the Starlight Children’s Foundation has accomplished over the past quarter-century. It was a testament to the dedication to bringing priceless smiles and memories to seriously ill children and their families across Canada. Here’s to 25 years and many more to come!
