Saturday, September 30 was the date of the Steven Page Trio concert at Koerner Hall. Beautiful Koerner Hall was filled with the fans of the former Bare Naked Ladies lead singer and fans of his solo career. Since turning solo, Page has produced several albums and his concerts bring joy through his talking and songs about love and life. The merch table sold his albums including his most recent album Elxelsior. The Steven Page Trio includes Craig Northey and Kevin Fox. Craig Northey is a founding member of renowned Canadian rock band Odds. Kevin Fox is a multi-instrumentalist and an in-demand recording artist. The Steven Page Trio create an onstage presence which is fun and entertaining in addition to producing beautiful music.
Opening for The Steven Page Trio was Tom Wilson. The Canadian music legend, storyteller and visual artist graced the stage. A fantastic way of opening up. He later joined The Steven Page Trio on stage at the end of their concert, with his son Thompson Wilson Shaw, also a musician, formerly part of the folk-rock group Harlan Pepper. He signed copies of his book at the merch table after the concert. It was a wonderful evening of music – of Canadian music – in a beautiful venue – Koerner Hall on Bloor Street West in Toronto.
