Canada’s oldest and largest international art fair, Art Toronto, returned to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Art Toronto offered incredible exposure for over 100 national and international galleries and attracted respected artists and art lovers, collectors and buyers from across the globe.

Kitty Scott is Art Toronto’s Focus exhibition curator this year. As curator of the Focus exhibition, Scott brought together artworks from participating Art Toronto galleries to create an exhibition from which collectors could purchase works. “The Focus platform at Art Toronto is unique in Canada,” said Scott in a press release. “It represents a thrilling opportunity to collaborate with some of the country’s most exciting contemporary artists.”

Canada’s most important annual art event kicked off with an Opening Night party to benefit the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, which is the most extensive publicly funded gallery in Canada that focuses exclusively on Canadian and Indigenous art, both historical and contemporary.

Guests savoured delicious food and beverages as they got their first peek at the exhibition. Many took this opportunity to acquire artworks for their home or as investment pieces. The artworks were selling fast, all while guests mingled and enjoyed themselves under the vibrant atmosphere of fun and artistic creativity.

Visitors had the unique opportunity to explore various artistic expressions, from traditional to cutting-edge contemporary works. It was a celebration of the transformative power of visual arts and a place where culture, creativity, and community converge, offering an immersive and enriching experience for all who attend.
Art Toronto opens from October 26 to 29, 2023. Visit arttoronto.ca
