Royal Winter Fair Nov 3rd  – 12th, 2023

November in Toronto…. And it’s that time again… The annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair!  2023 is the 101st anniversary of the RWF! Held at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place Toronto, It is a 10 day action-packed event with something for everyone. 

The Royal had a spectacular opening with KAY, the famous sheep, who travelled by GO Train to the Royal Winter Fair at the Enercare Centre! Visitors could then see her in the Livestock section! That was the beginning of the 10-day event. 

What do you see at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair?

Each day has a schedule of events.  It is Canada’s premier showcase for excellence in livestock, crops and food.

4-H Dairy Classic showings.   Farming – crops and animals are the main focus. Sheep, cows, beef, sheep, goats – owners all here to show their animals in competition. Attendees have the chance to wander through the livestock animal pen area to see the animals, speak to the farmers, learn about the technology needed and to know about raising animals, and its importance to Ontario and Canada’s economies. A unique opportunity for all ages. 

The Horse Shows are also a major focus with competitions running daily including special guests, saddle & bareback riding, bull riding, feature Australian Horseman, Battle of the Breeds, The Royal Centennial Cup, Pony Jumpers, The Six Horse Hitch and more. Horse tickets include general admission to the fair. 

The OLG stage has a variety of live music entertainment during the day and evenings with a place for you to sit and relax.

Every day the Burnbrae Farms Culinary Academy featured notable chefs teaching favourite recipes using local ingredients with the focus on Ontario eggs, beef and chicken. Cook along with the chefs and then eat your meal after with the group! Tickets can be purchased online for $20 plus taxes per cooking class plus admission price to The Royal.

In addition there’s lots of shopping! Many vendors booths selling food (with samples!), clothing for horse riding, all kinds of other clothing, leather items, and anything you can imagine. The Food Truck area for meals includes a good variety of foods and even healthy options – a great bonus! 

A visit to The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is an amazing experience for adults and children alike to learn more about agriculture and livestock and to have fun with family, friends or a reflective solo adventure.  A must- see when visiting or living in Toronto!   Have fun!
