Thursday, April 25, 2024 was where the action was in Toronto! Juno-Award Winning DRU was performing along with the amazing Recipee Band at Acqua Supper Club. That’s a lot of info in one sentence…
Juno Award Winning and Certified Gold selling International R&B Artist Drualong with the Iconic The Recipee Band collectively known as Soul Nostalgic were on stage! R&B / Soul singer DRU started the evening as promised with elegance meets soultransforming the stage into a high energy musical event and taking us through an era of unforgettable R&B / Soul songs. Guests were dancing, singing along and enjoying the reminiscence of R&B /Soul of hits from legends and modern-day classics. DRU’s singing and stage presence were wonderful. The Recipee Band amazing. The dancing fantastic. A performance not to be missed.
Canadian born artist with Jamaican heritage, DRU (Andrew Grange), has made a remarkable path in the music industry with determination and revolution. And we knew it was going to be a great show when Sean Jones was spotted in the crowd. DRU and Sean Jones were lead singers in the award-winning R&B group In Essence, their debut album “The Master Plan” included a JUNO Award, MuchMusic Award and SOCAN #1 Award in 2004.
The Recipee Band has over 20 years of professional experience among them in performing, arranging, producing and mixing, Jason Larmond, Juwayon (pr.”Zhu-way-on”) Clarke, Otis Williams, Johnathan Kerr and Omar Lunan are The Recipee Band. As a group, their contagious energy at live events and diverse repertoire is part of local and internationally touring Canadian acts.
The Acqua Supper Club’s sign says Eat. Drink. Dance. And that’s what was happening… The amazing set up of the stage extends along the length of the restaurant where guests have a close-up view of the DRU and the dancers. DRU even went into the crowd to be up close to guests. Guests were truly part of the Soul music experience! DRU’s show was a Vegas style show.
Also known as Acqua Dolce Venue, The Acqua Supper Club is located on the Exhibition grounds right behind the Bandshell stage near The Better Living Building. With an eclectic delicious menu and a large patio for summer weather… for the hopefully near future! The venue seats 350 people (for dinner) ,lots more room for standing guests and a lot of parking.
Soul Nostalgic with DRU and The Recipee Band was an uplifting evening of R&B / Soul music, dancing and dining with friends at a unique venue in Toronto. For a special event and an evening out with friends. Amazing.
