Scrubs in the City Gala Transforms Toronto Into Vibrant Mexico City @Evergreen Brick Works-Thurs.,June 6th,2024

On June 6, 2024, Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works was magnificently transformed into a colorful homage to Mexico City for the “Holt Renfrew Presents Scrubs in the City: Mexico City” gala. With over 1,600 attendees, the event united fashionistas, philanthropists, and corporate partners in support of Sick Kids Toronto.

This year’s gala, organized in collaboration with Mantella Corp., raised an incredible $1.4 million to fund a cutting-edge neurosurgery navigation system. This advanced technology will allow surgeons to visualize the brain and spine in 3D, facilitating delicate operations under time constraints.

The gala featured vibrant Mexican decor, delicious cuisine, lively music, and captivating performances, including those by Ballet Folklorico Puro Mexico. The planning committee, including prominent figures like Sylvia Mantella, Suzanne Rogers, and Candice Sinclair, ensured an authentic and immersive experience that paid homage to Mexico City’s rich culture.

Since its inception, Scrubs in the City has raised over $11 million for SickKids, continually supporting innovations that contribute to a healthier future for children. This year’s event not only highlighted the spirit of philanthropy but also celebrated the joy of culture and coming together for future generations.
