The Official Opening of Luminato took place Friday, June 7 at David Pecaut Square, Toronto. Unfortunately the threat of lightning prevented the preview performers from being on the stage. But all turned out well as the 3 dancers of Supa Rich Kids did their awesome intro into their upcoming performances and the Missa Afro-Brasileira choir sang magnificently. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow joined in the celebrations with enthusiasm as did members of the Luminato staff. Luminato Festival runs until June 16, 2024. Free events are held at David Pecaut Square just steps from St. Andrew subway station and many other venues. Some events are ticketed. Check out luminatofestival.com for more info and schedules.
