I Am: Celine Dion in Toronto on June 17, 2024

A premiere screening of the documentary was held at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto as part of the North American premieres show simultaneously in New York and Montreal.

The film serves as a love letter to Celine Dion’s fans and offers an honest and raw behind the scenes look at the superstar’s struggle with a life-altering illness. It is an emotional and heartbreaking film. We learn the raw truth of Celine’s illness which afflicts one in a million people. The film shows brilliant clips of Celine’s concerts and loving home scenes with her sons. Celine expresses how much she loves to perform and misses her fans so much.  We feel the sincerity in her emotions. In a live recording, Celine warmly welcomed audiences in Toronto, Montreal and New York City along with the film’s director Irene Taylor. It was a film about our Canadian icon and made us all proud of her strength and courage. We, along with Celine, wish for her return to the stage.

The star-studded evening saw notable Canadians walking the Red Carpet, followed by the screening, hosted by JUNO award-winner and Canada’s Queen of R&B and Soul, Jully Black.  As always Jully Black added a further Canadian success story importance to the event. She is a highly respected Canadian Juno award winning singer. The Amazon MGM Studios documentary was presented by Prime Video.

The Red Carpet was exciting! So many Canadian icons walked on the Red Carpet making us so proud as Canadians!  Was Celine there?! Not in person.. But she did grace us with her presence through a live video from New York City.  This was very special. All eyes were riveted on Celine. It made the documentary film screening even more special.
