The Fabulous Thunderbirds delivered a high-energy, blues-filled performance at The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on October 25, 2024. Led by frontman and harmonica legend Kim Wilson, the band brought its signature Texas blues-rock sound to a packed house. Touring with a new album release. “Struck Down” features 9 new songs co-written by Kim Wilson and Steve Strongman, as well as a stellar cover of Memphis Minnie’s song “Nothin’ in Ramblin.” The album was produced by Kim Wilson, Steve Strongman & Glen Parrish. From the first note, Wilson’s powerful voice and masterful harmonica skills commanded the stage, showcasing why he’s one of the genre’s most revered musicians.

The setlist was a mix of classics and newer material, including hits like “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Each song was infused with the unmistakable Thunderbirds groove, and the tight, seasoned lineup behind Wilson kept the energy high throughout. Guitarist Johnny Moeller’s fiery riffs and tasteful solos were a standout, seamlessly blending with Wilson’s harmonica to create an electrifying interplay that had the audience cheering.

The Oakville Centre provided an intimate setting that suited the band’s style, allowing fans to feel close to the action. The acoustics of the venue highlighted the crisp, raw power of each instrument, adding an extra punch to every note.
