Thursday, January 30th was the Day Players TV Series premiere screening at Hot DocsTed Rogers Cinema in Toronto. This wonderful iconic cinema has been reopening slowly with movie screenings and special events. This is one of them! The event featured a red carpet with the cast and crew.
Day Players is created by Reelworld Film Festival. Present for the event were Farid Yazdani who is the main star and creator of the program. Day Players is a six-episode absurdist comedy which dives into the chaotic, delusional and hilariously awkward world of struggling actors. Thursday night we got to see a detailed overview of the 6 episodes – the themes, the characters and the dynamics of the group of actors from the premiere screening. Day Players is a fun and thought-provoking series making us realize the struggles of actors and how they interact with each other. It’s a comedy and it’s lots of fun. The series is about an acting class where each acting student competes for the attention of the acting coach. Increasingly bizarre class assignments happen!
Following the screening, the actors joined the stage for a Q & A where we saw how close the actors had become and how much they enjoyed their time acting together.
