Rosanne Cash delivered a stunning performance at Koerner Hall on March 7, bringing warmth, wisdom, and an effortless command of the stage. Backed by her longtime musical partner and husband, John Leventhal, Cash took the audience on a journey through her rich catalog, blending folk, country, and Americana with storytelling that felt as intimate as a conversation with an old friend.

Her voice, still as expressive and soulful as ever, shone on classics like Seven Year Ache and The Wheel, while newer material from She Remembers Everything carried a weight and emotional depth that resonated through the pristine acoustics of Koerner Hall. Leventhal’s masterful guitar work provided the perfect accompaniment, subtly enhancing the mood of each song.

Between songs, Cash shared reflections on life, love, and loss with a mix of humor and poignancy, deepening the connection with her audience. Highlights included a haunting rendition of Blue Moon With Heartache and a moving tribute to her father, Johnny Cash, with Tennessee Flat Top Box.

The set was balanced, personal, and deeply felt, a testament to Cash’s enduring artistry. By the final notes, the audience was left in awe, grateful for an evening that was less about nostalgia and more about the power of great songwriting and storytelling.
