Created by artists Callum Hay, Sara Vinten, and Jessica Mak, OMNIVOX pushes the boundaries of interactive art and digital play. The exhibition showcases Thousand Light Orchestra, a mesmerizing custom-built experience where participants co-create sound and visuals through a glowing, pulsing cube. This tactile, collaborative experience explores how games can act as a powerful medium for community building, creative expression, and shared discovery.
“We’re excited to present Thousand Light Orchestra on OMNIVOX as part of Toronto Games Week—an experience that turns light and sound into a space for creative connection,” said Bev Moore, Executive Director of Trinity Square Video. “This project reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting artists who develop custom systems and inventive processes to create shared, playful encounters that invite curiosity, collaboration, and wonder.”
At the core of the exhibition is the OMNIVOX display – a 16x16x16 grid of 4,096 fully addressable LEDs – which produces stunning, real-time, holographic-like visuals. Built through custom software and hardware integration by Hay and Vinten, the installation is a playground for experimental design, featuring everything from ray tracing to 3D sound-reactive effects. A brand-new experience, tailor-made for Toronto Games Week, will debut during the exhibition.
CLOSING PARTY – JUNE 18
Trinity Square Video will also host the Toronto Games Week Closing Party on Wednesday, June 18 – from 7pm to 10pm at its gallery and rooftop space at 401 Richmond St. West. The celebration will bring together artists, gamers, and the public for an evening of music, networking, and community celebration—capping off a week of innovation and play in the heart of the city.
This project is made possible through generous funding from the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario.
