The 2025 edition of Art Toronto brought together art galleries from all over Canada, USA, Europe, Mexico and South America with galleries representing artwork from all over the world. Held at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre North, the Art Toronto Show started Thursday, October 23 with a preview for media and then an opening night celebration later that evening. The First Look Opening Night was a benefit for McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were full days with a busy schedule of platform talks, curated tours and dance performances. A very interesting Platform talk entitled City Building Culture with Chloe Catan, Executive Director Lassonde Art Trail, Llana Altman, Co-Executive Director, The Bentway, Tara Akitt, Senior Director, Library Street Collective and Moderator: Lucas Cowan, Curator & Art Advisor. This took place Sunday, October 26 and discussed land use and contemporary art displays which will be at The Lassonde Art Trail (LAT) at Biidaasige Park. Some exciting projects coming up very soon!

The Focus Exhibition was Fly Birds Flycurated by Dr. Zoé Whitley. ‘Generations’ calls attention to cross-generational dialogues which help shape today’s art. Focusing mostly on Canadian art but with a big presence from Latin America. ARTE SUR – Curated by Karen Huber is a new section at Art Toronto 2025, celebrating the vibrant artistry of Latin America highlighting the growing connection between Canada and these Latin regions. Discover presented by RBC offers galleries to showcase emerging artists. This program offers a strong platform for these artists to make connections and be seen.

Art Toronto provided a detailed map of the floor with descriptions of the galleries. Very well organised for those attending Toronto Art. Refreshments were available for purchase and there were areas to meet and chat with others. MTCC is easily accessible by TTC subway or GO Train… an easy walk from either Union Station or King subway Station. Art Toronto is a place to connect with art galleries, to make purchases and to meet like-minded people who appreciate good art.

Business was taking place and lots of art pieces were sold … some to work places, museums and galleries. Another very successful Toronto Art Show. To read more about it, here’s the link www.arttoronto.ca
