On November 14, 2025, Coney Hatch, the iconic Canadian hard rock band, delivered a truly special experience at The Redwood Theatre in Toronto. This wasn’t a typical high-volume rock show: the performance is billed as “Up-Close & Unplugged,” giving fans a rare, acoustic, and intimate encounter with the band. Where were you in 1982 was the night’s theme.

The timing was meaningful, as it coincided with the anniversary reissue of their gold-certified debut album, Coney Hatch, originally released in 1982. This special edition is being reissued as a remastered double LP via Anthem Records, featuring bonus tracks and previously unreleased live recordings from their first-ever U.S. show at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland.

The band’s lineup — Carl Dixon (vocals/guitar), Andy Curran (bass/vocals), Sean Kelly (guitar), and Dave Ketchum (drums) — performed in a stripped-down but still powerful format. Despite the acoustic setting, they maintained the energy and tightness they’re known for, but with more nuance and emphasis on the songwriting and vocal interplay.

For fans, a VIP package included a “sound-check party,” a photo op with all four band members, and a copy of the anniversary vinyl — a thoughtful celebration of both their legacy and their close connection to their audience. This will be their only appearance in 2025, making it a must-see show for longtime followers. If you’re a fan of classic ’80s rock or wanted a more emotionally resonant concert experience, this performance offered a rare and memorable twist — combining nostalgia, rarity, and the warmth of an unplugged set.
