Dragon Ball 2026 Fundraiser for Yee Hong Foundation

By Sally Warburton

Yee Hong Foundation’s signature fundraising gala took place Saturday, February 14th, 2026. Entitled Dragon Ball, it welcomed the Year of the Horse. This year the 37th edition of the fundraiser gala took place at the Automotive Building at Exhibition Place.  The past two years the event has been held at the MTCC. It was a Black tie dress code evening with a Grand Reception at 5:30pm and Gala Dinner at 7pm.

Guests were welcomed into a festive ambiance of Lunar New Year decor with lanterns and greeters dressed in Chinese lunar outfits. Guests were offered a glass of wine and delicious hors d’oeuvre upon arrival. Then as they entered one of the main rooms, there were many food booths set up with a wide variety of Chinese savoury foods. All delicious – including different types of dumplings, soups, drinks, Chinese coffee, pork cut from a roasted pig. A bar with a wide selection was there. An extensive Silent Auction area was set up allowing guests to view items on which to bid for the fundraiser. Many wonderful items and experiences available. Look at the photos to see some of the items. Lots of money was raised!

There were many photo opportunities with the costumed staff and at the 360 photo booth, the lantern site and other photo op spots. It was truly an Instagram selfie or group photo dream! Everyone was having fun taking photos while promoting the Dragon Ball Yee Hong fundraiser event.

Very special guest was Ontario Premier Mr. Doug Ford who spoke about the importance of the Yee Hong Fundraiser for the elderly community.  Later other special guests from the government were welcomed into the main dining room area.

Entertainment was provided with singing, dancing, music and lighting. It was all spectacular. It all fit perfectly with the evening.  Emphasis was placed on the theme of The Year of the Horse.  Special guests who support the Yee Hong Foundation were welcomed on stage with huge applause. A live auction took place with wonderful items on which to bid.

Dinner started with an appetizer of smoked duck. Then Crab bisque soup. The main entrée was pork belly, short ribs with Chinese vegetables. Dessert was Vanilla Brulé with chocolate bark and Yuzu pearl. A very delicious authentic Chinese meal. Enjoyed by all.

The 37th Dragon Ball was a wonderful success as an elegant evening of celebration held in a very spacious and inviting venue – the Automotive Building at Exhibition Place.  And it was financially successful by raising a lot of money for the Yee Hong Foundation. Congratulations on such success!

Keep your eyes open for the 2027 edition of Yee Hong Dragon Ball!
