Steph Strings @Horseshoe Tavern-Sat.,March 7, 2026

By Wayne Baggs

Australian guitar phenom Steph Strings brought a wave of sunshine and jaw-dropping musicianship to Horseshoe Tavern on March 7, 2026. The concert was a sold-out show presented by Live Nation as part of the venue’s “Roots and Revelry Series” in partnership with AMERICANAFEST. The legendary Queen West room has hosted countless greats since opening in 1947, and on this night, it felt like everyone in the packed club knew they were witnessing something special.
From the moment Steph walked on stage with her acoustic guitar, the vibe was relaxed but electric. She has that rare ability to make virtuosic playing look completely effortless. Her intricate finger-picking and lightning-fast runs had the crowd watching in amazement, but what really made the night memorable was the warmth behind it all. Between songs, she chatted with the audience like old friends, laughing about life on tour and clearly soaking in the energy of the room.

The Horseshoe’s intimate setting was perfect for her style. Every note rang out clearly, whether she was delicately weaving melodic lines or digging into more rhythmic, percussive grooves on the guitar. The crowd responded with enthusiastic cheers after nearly every song, and several moments drew spontaneous applause right in the middle of her solos.
Steph’s songwriting also shone throughout the set. Her tunes blend folk, roots, and a touch of blues, all wrapped around those incredible guitar arrangements. Some songs had the crowd swaying quietly, while others built into exciting instrumental passages that felt almost like jam sessions.
One of the best parts of the evening was the genuine connection she created with the audience. You could see smiles across the room as people realized they weren’t just watching a technically brilliant guitarist—they were experiencing a performer who truly loves what she does.
By the end of the night, the applause was loud, long, and well deserved. For many in the room, this felt like catching an artist on the rise in the perfect venue. If this show was any indication, Steph Strings won’t be playing rooms this small for much longer.
