We had a great time at Toronto Comicon, presented by FAN EXPO Canada. It was certainly an action-packed three days of fandom fun at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre during March break. There was something for all who attended: a picture with a celebrity, sci-fi, fantasy, comics, anime, gaming and horror.
There were panels and celebrity meet and greets, over 400 exhibitors offering must-have collectables, autograph signings, photo opportunities and interactive experiences for fans of all ages.
This year’s attractions also brought the excitement centre stage at the K-POP Demon Hunters Sing-A-Long! Fans can belt out their favourite HUNTRIX anthems together. Movie lovers can also enjoy special anniversary screenings of Shrek – 25th Anniversary and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – 35th Anniversary, celebrating the green unconventional heroes who have captivated hearts around the world.
The fun continued at the Cosplay Red Carpet for the first ever Dino-Mite Inflatable T-Rex Cosplay Meetup. There was the Cosplay HQ, with fully immersive, fandom-fueled photo sets. The Friendiverse Lounge, where kids and parents made friendship bracelets, traded Pokémon cards, and craft cool souvenirs with their creativity.
Special guest at this year’s show included:
Mara Wilson, beloved for her iconic roles in Matilda, Mrs. Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street, returning to Toronto Comicon for the first time in eight years. Fans of 90’s pop-culture won’t want to miss the cast of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Brian Tochi, Ernie Reyes Jr., François Chau, Kenn Scott and Robbie Rist, bringing Turtle Power and pizza-fueled fun to Toronto. Adventure also awaits with Cary Elwes, the swashbuckling Westley from The Princess Bride and a master of thrills from Saw.
Gaming fans were behind the mic and experience the high-stakes chaos of Los Santos with the voice actors who brought Grand Theft Auto V to life, including Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno, Steven Ogg, alongside Young Maylay, the voice behind Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
From ninjas, to just browsing around with the array of costumes, to blockbuster thrills and video game mayhem, this year’s Toronto Comicon has every fandom covered!
