** by Bill Kwan **

Frankie Valli, 78 years young and the only original of the “Four Seasons” played Casino Rama with a full orchestra and Four background singers.  The concert began with the mega hit “Grease” and gave the audience a treat of what was to come with the band.  The band was led by band leader: Robby Robinson who had been with Mr. Valli for over 30 years as mentioned during the introduction. His trademark tenor-falsetto vocals were showcased during the set of songs that dazzled the fans during the two hours of hits that spanned 50 years of his career.

New Jersey born Frankie Valli has had a resurrection of his musical career with the success of” Jersey Boys”-the musical which tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.  His most recent album “Romancing the 60’s” was showcased with standards like: “Spanish Harlem”, “My Girl” and “Groovin”  Then Valli told the audience of his very first concert which turned out to be another New Jersey born… Frank Sinatra. That lead him to sing Sinatra/Cole Porter standard such as “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”

The concert crowd got louder when Valli and the  band started playing selections from his “Disco Era.” Songs such as “Who Loves You” and “Dec. 63(Oh What A Night)”Then Valli and the band played a big medley of hits, including “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry”and “Bye,Bye,Baby.
