Casablanca Gala @ The Carlu

event date: Fri Feb 7, 2014

A special thank you goes out to Danielle Paroyan | Senior Communications Officer Canada’s National Ballet School for the invitation and hospitality.

The Carlu was transformed into a 1940’s atmosphere with guests dressing the part in stylish clothing and hairstyles to match the vintage era for their annual fundraiser. The Casablanca Gala welcomed their guest with a feature Casablanca inspired cocktail reception and gourmet Moroccan dinner by à la Carte Kitchen Inc., culminating in a ballet performance by the NBS Professional Ballet Program students.

Following the performance was a casino and lounge with live entertainment. The evening included a luxury raffle with prizes valued over $49,000, featuring lead Raffle Partner Mindham Fine Jewellery. NBS is the only ballet school in North America providing professional dance training, academic instruction and residential care on the same campus. With an international reputation for excellence, the School focuses first and foremost on the students talent and not on their ability to finance their education, as talent is the sole criterion for acceptance into the School’s Professional Ballet Program. For nearly 25 years, the NBS annual gala has helped ensure that no talented student be prevented from attending NBS due to financial circumstances.

It was a great evening of signature themed cocktails, amazing food and the main focus of fund raising to the the Nation Ballet School of Canada. A lot of happy faces left the Gala knowing that there will be more exciting fun in store for next year’s NBS gala for 2015.
