The 28th Annual Crystal Ball Gala, Nov. 8, 2014 @Metro Toronto Convention Centre
This year marked the 28th Annual Crystal Ball Gala for the Reach for the Rainbow, recognized as one of the top Black Tie revenue generating galas held in Canada. This gala draw the who’s who of the corporate elite, the affluent, philanthropists and A-Listers out for an evening of unsurpassed enjoyment. This year Crystal Ball Gala held a 50th anniversary Beatles tribute themed night featuring the ultimate tribute by The Fab Four, taking the crowd back to 1964 and Ed Sullivan hosting.
What makes this gala stand out from the rest of the charity galas, are some of the extravagant assortment of items donated for the silent and live auctions (from trips, a home make-over, a state of the art Jacuzzi, the all new 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport and many other great items) raise over $1 Million dollars for Reach for the Rainbow. Reach for the Rainbow is a non-profit organization that is committed to serving its community for individuals that may require a complex range of requirements by assisting children with disabilities integrate with other kids with traditional summer camps and other year round programs within Ontario.
Some of the celebrity guests in attendance included; Hilary Farr, Amanda Forrest, Susan Hay and Kate Campbell
As the live auction heated up, so did the silent auction as crowds gathered around the big board to see where they stood at securing one of the over 300 items. Other ways of donating to a great charity was the famous ‘Share the Wealth‘ (with each winner (2) receiving over $6,000, The 1,000 Balloon POP! with great prizes inside.
As the Fab Four covered the Beatles songs of 50 years ago, the crowd took to the dance floor and danced like it was 1964 again, screaming, yelling and just acting like a bunch of kids seeing the real rock legends in concert. Mark your calendars next year and attend the 29th Annual Crystal Ball Gala to see why this event is getting bigger and better every year!
