Discover Barsa Taberna-Thurs.,Nov.20th,2014@St.Lawrence Market

Toronto’s newest artsy modern Tapas restaurant was previewed to an intimate group of people on Thursday. The restaurant is located in the heart of the historical St. Lawrence Market. A restored heritage building that keeps it’s 1800 style with a flair of modern decor. The restaurant showcases a  Barcelona  inspired atmosphere , mosaic  floors and abstract furnishing inspired by Salvador Dali and Antonia Goudi.
The Barsa experience and hospitality was served by the quick staff and Executive Chef Michael G. Smith. It included a wide variety of food and beverage that was served during the night. Pinchos or ‘Pintxos’ are small snacks traditionally from Northern Spain and typically eaten in bars (tabernas) socially among friends and family. Pinchos often feature a combination of fresh, seasonal ingredients – such as cheeses, cured meats, smoked fish, among many others – prepared and placed on a piece of toast and fastened with a ‘spike’, commonly a toothpick. It was a night to tweet, eat and experience a typical experience from Spain. Sampling Chef’s selection of fresh and seasonal ingredients from the St. Lawrence Market made into bite-sized pinchos was accompanied by the city’s top sangria and Estrella beer. Also  Flamenco guitarist Benjamin Barrille performed during the evening. A big thank you goes out to Nicole Haer and the rest of the staff at The Publicist Group for the invite to this event.
