The 22nd annual RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards-Nov., 26th, 2014@Fairmont Royal York

The 22nd annual RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards held on November 26th, 2014 at the luxurious  Fairmont Royal York in Toronto named six winners of this year’s prestigious awards including: the co-founder of Canada’s best selling brand of organic baby food; the visionary behind the world’s leading provider of Windows-based multi-vendor ATM software; and a group of four moms who conceived a multi-million dollar business out of growing frustration at the amount of items their kids lose. The evening began with a cocktail reception where guests mingled and networked and nominees celebrated with friends and family.  The room was filled with primarily warm gold and pink and blue hues like royal blue and dresses were by and large short cocktail numbers, business suits, with a few women in brilliant gowns.    The reception was followed by warm beautiful decor of red and white roses centered on the table as guests started to be seated.  After a welcome by Carolyn Lawrence, president and CEO of Women of Influence Inc. She proceeded with a special speech,  praising the winners for their relentless dedication to pursuing their passions and for paving the way for future generations of female entrepreneurs. “We are honored to recognize the contributions of women entrepreneurs in Canada, helping to inspire new generations of innovators and leaders,”  “Passion, innovation and dedication are the cornerstones of the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards,” explained Ms. Lawrence. “Each finalist has exemplified these characteristics, and is an inspiration to professional women across the country.” The three course sit-down dinner was served and then the Award ceremony started, where each winner gave heartfelt speeches.  Each year, the awards program spotlights six phenomenal female business owners across categories ranging from start-up to sustainability-  and the winner is selected Following a record-breaking 4,000 nominees, this year’s winners included: • Jennifer Carlson, Baby Gourmet, Calgary, AB, TELUS Trailblazer  • Mia Pearson, North Strategic, Toronto, ON, Deloitte Start-Up  • Jennifer Gillivan, IWK Foundation, Halifax, NS, TPH Charitable Giving  • Penney Murphy, Penney Murphy & Associates, Saskatoon, SK, Micro Business  • Kyle MacDonald, Phoenix Interactive Design, London, ON RBC Momentum  • Julie Cole, Cynthia Esp, Tricia Mumby, Julie Ellis, Mabel’s Labels, Hamilton, ON, PROFIT Award for  Excellence  According to Women of Influence, “past Award recipients now sit on high level boards and government committees, and lend their energies to countless educational and other volunteer projects. They provide valuable role models and mentors for all entrepreneurs, both male and female.” Congratulations to this year’s winners!
