SNAP! Art Auction SNAPS To It!
Presented by TD Canada Trust, SNAP! is ACT’s annual photographic fundraiser featuring a live auction of art, a silent auction and a photo competition.
ACT works with gay men, women and young people to increase their knowledge, skills and resilience in the face of HIV/AIDS. ACT also helps to reduce HIV transmission by working with our communities to develop information about HIV, and provides outreach and education, in addition to supporting and training people living with HIV so that they may lead healthier, more productive lives.
Following public previews at the Arta Gallery, SNAP! 2015 will take place today, Thursday, March 26th, 2015 at the Bram & Bluma Appel Salon at the Toronto Reference Library. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the live auction begins at 7:00 pm sharp! The event includes a live and silent auction with Toronto auctioneer Perry Tung. With Bonhams since December 2009, Mr. Tung’s experience includes both primary and secondary art markets. Included in the selection of art is “Chicago (Two Sailors On A Street)”, a photograph by housekeeper-turned-closet-photographer Vivian Maier, the subject of recent Oscar-nominated documentary “Finding Vivian Maier”.
In previous years, SNAP! has drawn over 700 guests, providing patrons with an opportunity to support ACT’s programs and services, increase their awareness of HIV/AIDS and add to their art collections. The event provides a great opportunity for both established and emerging artists to showcase their work.
Now entering its second decade, SNAP! has raised over $2.3 million in support of the important programs and services at ACT. Below is a small selection of art available:
Lot 2 – Wrestlers
Lot 6 – Realness
Lot 10 – Zack Stratis

The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) has been a respected leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS for over 30 years. Unfortunately, more people than ever in our city are living with HIV/AIDS. It is estimated that one in five gay men in Toronto are living with HIV. With your support, ACT can continue to deliver innovative programs and services to those living with, at risk, and affected by HIV/AIDS. Complimentary h’ors d’oeuvres and a host bar were available to event patrons.
