PROGRESS PLACE GALA 30th ANNIVERSARY @ Fifth Social Club (June 16, 2015)
The 30th Anniversary Progress Place Gala was Held at The Fifth Social Club where over 200 guests enjoyed a night of good food, drink and 80s entertainment, this event presents a unique opportunity for friends and supporters to show their support for Progress Place and the work being done to advance the cause of mental health.
Progress Place has been a pioneer in developing innovative programs and services to help people living with mental health.
This gala is also about supporting the Warm Line Program, a peer support telephone, online chat and text messaging service for people living with mental illness. The funds raised at this gala will support the expansion of the Warm Line program and make it available to more people — especially young adults.
Hosted by Kids in the Hall alumnist Scott Thompson along with guests such as Retired Major-General Lewis MacKenzie, Deloitte’s General Counsel Kenneth Fredeen, and former CBC News anchor Hilary Brown
Guests were treated to an ‘uplifting’ performance by Lorraine Segato (The Parachute Club) who got the audience moving to a redux version of her popular single “Rise Up”.
Guests enjoyed a night filled with an array of signature dishes from lamb chops, charcuterie boards & mashed potatoes, to drink, entertainment, silent auction and live auction.
Partners in Recovery gives people living with mental illness the change to work and get paid a competitive wage and ultimately improve their self-confidence.
