One Night Stand, June 19, 2015 @ Design Exchange, 234 Bay Street, Toronto
Friday night located in the financial heart of downtown Toronto inside the fabled walls of the Design Exchange, The Hincks-Dellcrest Foundation held their 6th annual fundraiser for Children’s Mental Health. One Night Stand brought together everyone out to support the kids. #OneNightStand @HincksDellcrest
One in five Canadian children suffers from a mental health problem. Children today face more complicated problems at increasingly younger ages, and many problems that exist today were unheard of 20 years ago. Most mental illness first appears in childhood or adolescence.
Left untreated, mental health problems can lead to family crises, school disruption, violent behaviour, or even suicide. Mental illness affects families, schools, and often entire communities.
Event goers viewed items up for silent auction, nibbled on h’orderves, drank wine & cocktails, mingled and danced into the night.
The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre is a non-profit children’s mental health centre offering a comprehensive range mental health services to infants, children, youth, and families throughout Toronto. Each year, more than 8,000 children and families are helped through a variety of prevention, early intervention, outpatient, and residential treatment programs.
In addition to helping children and their families, The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre provides training and education to prepare the next generation of mental health professionals. Hincks-Dellcrest Centre researchers also examine the causes of children’s social and emotional problems, continuously improving services by testing and evaluating new treatment methods.
