We enjoyed an Italian inspired, Californian cultivated experience without traveling south of the border on a semi-chilly Tuesday night in Toronto.
This menu brought together both traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine alongside world-class California wines. Led by Executive Chef Tri Tran, the menu features a selection of dishes made with a focus on fresh seasonal ingredients infused with rich wines resulting in a unique and creative offering. A few highlights include artisanal homemade pastas, presented in combination with ingredients like jumbo black tiger shrimp, wild BC lobster tail and braised rabbit. A destination for all food and wine lovers, cresta also offers signature cocktails ideal for happy hour, date night and social outings. Thomas George Estates is run by the father and son team of Thomas and Jeremy Baker and produces world class site specific wines from its estate vineyards under three labels; Thomas George Estates, Noble Tree and cresta.  The six vineyards of Thomas George Estates offer diversity of microclimates, soil types, exposures, vine age and wines.  All of the wines of Thomas George Estates have a complex palette of fruit, balanced with fresh acidity and appealing tannins, and are made in small lots in a style that emphasizes inspired sophistication.  Not sold at the L.C.B.O. we were treated to a generous wine tasting of these Californian wines.

cresta named after one of California’s most iconic vineyards, Cresta Ridge of Thomas George Estates, offered Toronto an inspired, California cultivated experience unlike any other in the city. We indulge in a selection of diverse wines, unique cocktails and passed canapes.  This was our first experience at this sophisticated and refined two-story venue by historical The Esplanade/St.Lawrence Market. The refined design, décor and open environment offers an elevated dining experience  with floor to ceiling windows on both the ground and mezzanine levels. The circular bar  wraps around a 35-foot wine chandelier which displays 500 bottles of TGE wines. The two-story venue accommodates both private and group dining. The lower level dining area seats up to 75 guests for private dining and accommodates up to 130 for cocktail functions. The mezzanine dining area provides an intimate setting for private dining seating up to 60 guests and accommodates up to 100 for cocktail functions. cresta’s two patios seat up to 150 guests and offer a European experience

We look forward to attending this venue again in the future with a group of people as our experience was positive and we would like to thank Ranjit Dhatt of The Publicist Group for the invitation to this event.
