Lucky Ball benefitting The Food Bank@Revival(Thurs.,March 17th,2016)
The Lucky Ball gala with all proceeds going towards the Fort York Food Bank. Hosted again at the Revival Bar on College Street, in the heart of Toronto’s Little Portugal, the night brought on young professional who support this great cause. Young professionals and supporters of this great cause came out on a Thursday night to mingle, enjoy food and drinks and placed bids for some great items during the silent auction. This year, Lucky Ball’s goal was to get 500 guests to attend the event at Revival to raise approximately $50,000 for Fort York Food Bank. Raising $50,000 would cover almost 1/3rd of the food bank’s cash operating budget for a year. This amount may not seem a lot, but for the people that support and use the FYFB, it can mean the world to them.
Fort York Food Bank (an agency of the Daily Bread Food Bank and Second Harvest), which is located at Dundas & Bathurst, is a multi–service agency reconnecting people with our community. With 95% of every donation to FYFB going directly to programs that provide an integrated set of services that assist clients in a holistic manner. In a given month, the FYFB helps approximately 1,200 of the most vulnerable members of our community; FYFB clients survive on an average of $3 a day after housing costs.
We would like to thank The Fort York Food Bank for the invitation to this event and we look forward to next year’s event during St Patrick’s Day.
