Columbus Blue Jackets Vs. Toronto Maple Leafs@A.C.C.(Wed.,April 6th,2016)
This was the last home game of the season and Fan Appreciation night for the roller coaster year of the last place Maple Leafs.
Columbus Blue Jackets used a big third period to lay a beating on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Brandon Dubinsky scored two goals and Brandon Saad of Columbus added a goal and assist and the Blue Jackets beat the Maple Leafs 5-1 on Wednesday night.
Matt Calvert had a goal and two assists Oliver Bjorkstrand had a goal and assist for Columbus.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves for the Blue Jackets and Garret Sparks didn’t receive much help from his teammates but there should be a bright future for the young goaltender .
Now solely alone in last place after Edmonton’s win against Vancouver, Toronto will have either the best odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick (20 percent).
The Leafs haven’t had the No. 1 overall pick since 1985 when they selected Wendel Clark from the Saskatoon Blades. This year’s Auston Mathews lottery will exiting as the talented hockey player will be selected number one overall. We doubt Toronto will trade their draft pick and like year’s past we will be counting on “Next Year”! Now it’s time to cheer on the Toronto Marlies and the NHL playoffs.
