The Wine Academy officially opened its doors in the heart of The Financial District.
An exciting new private social club built around a masterpiece wine cellar worthy of housing the worlds’ most storied and finest wines, the Wine Academy offers exclusive membership for casual and dedicated wine aficionados in its 6000+ square foot, two-story space – perfect for conducting business, entertaining guests, or hosting a private soiree.
“Wine Academy came from the idea of creating a space where friends, clients and colleagues who appreciate dining out, entertaining and being social could come together,” said Aaron Joseph Bear Robe, Managing Partner and Executive Chef at Wine Academy. “And, since food and wine are two of the most ubiquitous enjoyments life has to offer, The Wine Academy aimed to create a social club that celebrates just that.”

Personal and corporate memberships are available that permit 24/7 access to the space to relax, enjoy, entertain and network. Personal membership is available for $1,000 annually and includes a vibrant and engaging event calendar with portfolio tastings, vintage premiers and social galas. Members are also able to rent wine storage units for $150 per month in the state-of-the-art wine cellar featuring a fully integrated HVAC system to control temperature and humidity uniformly. The wine cellar holds up to 105,000 thousand bottles of wine – consisting of 1,122 Individual and separately keyed personal storage lockers, each that hold up to 92 Bordeaux style bottles.
Space & Design
The venue is a 6000+ square foot, two-story space featuring a state-of-the-art private wine cellar where members can store their wines safely and securely in a temperature and humidity controlled milieu. The space also features a main social lounge, an executive boardroom, a business centre, as well as a tasting library. Previously a gym in the 80s and 90s, the location housed a beautiful, raw aesthetic. Using that as the foundation, the space was transformed to have a more modern, industrial meets classic look. The combination of metal, both polished and unpolished, wood, brick, and stone are the key elements that make this 21st century cellar – reminiscent of a traditional ‘old world’ open air cellar. The space design was a collaborative effort, working alongside Cool Earth Architecture – a sustainable, boutique architectural firm – led by Principal Architect Elias Ampas, as well as Interior Designer Roksena Nikolova to complete the space aesthetic. The millwork pieces and industrial accents give Wine Academy its contemporary look.

Food & Beverage
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Aaron Joseph Bear Robe and features light seasonal menus, highlighting flavours of the Mediterranean, along with charcuterie and cheese plates. The Wine Academy also has brought on Natalie Pope as their in-house sommelier, formerly at Chase. Natalie will also be leading membership programming, such as wine education seminars, etiquette, and more!
