The Kultura Festival was held at Nathan Phillips Square from August 5th to 7th, 2016, with its 11th consecutive year of traditional and modern Filipino cultural experience.  http://www.kultura.ca/about

The Kultura’s culinary battle returned this year with  Kain Kalye: Filipino Street Eats Competition. Guests were able to tour/taste the traditional and nouveau cuisine of the Philippines on the final day of the festival with a food sampling from participating vendors and they could vote for their favourite cuisine. Participating restaurants included last year’s winner,  Diona Joyce of Kanto and Tita Flips along with Chef Daniel Cancino of Lamesa.
Kultura Filipino arts Festival, was presented by Kapisanan Philipine Centre for Arts & Culture.

Cultural pride and a progressive outlook on the Filipino-Canadian experience, KULTURA FILIPINO ARTS FESTIVAL has been Toronto fixture for a decade with its innovative programming of live performances, traditional and modern cuisine, curated interactive art installations and a bustling marketplace.
The annual KULTURA Filipino Arts Festival had humble beginnings as a small Kensington Market BBQ with no budget to a mainstream multi-venue and multi-day Toronto summer festival with public funding, partnership, and over 15,000 attendees from diverse communities in 2015!
KULTURA is the only festival of its kind in Toronto that is run by the youth-led KAPISANAN Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture and by volunteers.
We would like to thank  Daniela Syrovy and Hannah Yardley of Clutch PR for the invitation for this event. We look forward to the 2017 version of KULTURA.
