The 25th Annual Mirror Ball 2016@The Allstream Centre(Sat.,Nov.19th,2016)
It was the 25th annual Mirror Ball, Toronto’s annual fundraising event that took place at the Allstream Centre. The annual black-tie event supports Beauty Gives Back and its mission to help women face the emotional battle of cancer. This year’s event included Matte Babel and Sangita Patel of ET Canada as host/Emcee. Guests included the who’s who in fashion, T.V. and the Big Screen. Over 700 guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and dined on fine cuisine while being entertained by The Jim Cuddy Band(Blue Rodeo)
The Mirror Ball was a great success this year as it filled the evening with a glamorous atmosphere, silent/live auctions, great food and wine, and heart-warming speakers. The “Look Good Feel Better” and “FacingCancer.ca” programs are associated with the Mirror Ball. For additional information on LGFB – Look Good Feel Better – Helping Women with Cancer please visit http://www.lgfb.ca. The ball was a successful fundraiser for these two cancer support programs and was the perfect way to connect beauty and hope as one.
The theme was amazing and provided the guests with a relaxing, calming and soothing mood while pairing up right on time for the first snowfalls of the season! Contrasting with the chilly weather, we were served with warm dinner courses- all of which, I must say, were exquisite and delicious.
The guest speakers of the night were both funny and heart-warming. Sherry Abbott, a cancer survivor, also provided a few heart-warming words. Her astonishing strength and courage is inspiring to all. Cancer can be beaten, and although many people lose their battles, (I personally have lost a few loved ones to cancer), it just shows how we all have the strength, courage, and right to fight for our lives, and for the lives of others struggling with it. Sherry is proof of that strength that exists in all of us, but she takes it to another level, by stepping forward and speaking up.
After the dinner, there was an after party, “Mirror Ball After Dark,”
In one of the other Allstream Centre rooms the DJ’s filled the room with an energetic vibe through their mixes. It was great to see everyone on their feet and dancing. Delicious desserts, pizza and beverages were served after dinner, and an open bar with a large variety of alcoholic beverages was available to the patrons.
Overall, the Mirror Ball was an amazing experience for a great cause. I congratulate its success. For anyone fighting Cancer, don’t give up! Keep fighting! We look forward to the 2017 edition of Mirror Ball.
We would like to thank Sherry Abbott and Christina Sfeir from Zak Communications Inc. for the invitation.
