Black Tie Boxing Benefiting Lone Survivor Foundation@Silver Street Studios-Tues.,Feb.21st,2017

We were honoured to be invited to a great sports event as more than 500 of Houston’s elite and boxing enthusiasts, dressed in black tie and cocktail attire, arrived on the red carpet at Silver Street Studios as spectators at Benjamin Berg’s and Savarese Promotions’ one-of-a-kind event, Black Tie Boxing benefiting Lone Survivor Foundation.

As guests made their way down the red carpet lined with gold lanterns, an oversized birdcage with two boxing attired go-go dancers swaying to live jazz music greeted the spectators. Cocktail hour offered top-shelf  bars, Balvenie served as the whisky of choice, passed Hors d’oeuvres such as mini crab cakes, beef wellington and caprese skewers, and tuxedo-clad women circulated the room with wine and champagne. As the aroma of B&B Butchers & Restaurant permeated the room, guests made their way into the main area for a seated dinner of salad, steak, asparagus and their famous fried mac n’ cheese.

As the announcer signaled the approaching start, bedazzled bikini-clad ring girls surrounded the ring along with the most desirable ringside seats and celebrity tables filled with Eric “Butterbean” Esch and Riddick Bowe. Notable boxers included Brandon Figueroa, Darwin Price, and Miguel Flores versus Dat Nguyen as the Main Event, with Dat Nguyen knocking out Flores. As the competition heightened, guests enjoyed Davidoff cigars and placed bets on each of the fights. To round out the evening, Terry Jung, Executive Director of Lone Survivor Foundation, introduced the two U.S. Military Veteran amputee pugilists, Eric Morante and Alex “Titanium” Del Rio, who competed to reinforce the evening’s non-profit. 100 percent of the raffle and betting proceeds for the amputee fight plus a percentage of the entire evening’s proceeds raised more than $40,000 for the local nonprofit.
Also “IN THE CROWD”: Eric “Butterbean” Esch, Riddick Bowe, Tilman Fertita, Michael Berry, Dan Pastorini, Sam Dekker, Johnathan Joseph, Nick Florescu, Gregory Cokinos, Chad Pinkerton, Tom Laird, David Denenburg, Jack Raines, Javier Loya, Randall Davis, Butch Boyd, Steve Wyatt, Jim Janke, Jody James, Lou Savarese and Benjamin Berg.

We would like to thank Emily Shuffield Hanley  and Karen Henry of The PR Boutique for the invitation and hospitality for this amazing event.
