Floyd was so impressed with our interview in Toronto (note, most of the interview was not captured on camera), that he invited us for an exclusive interview in London. So we jetted off on the first red eye flight to London where it was all business as it was the final day of the world press conference tour. I found myself being part journalist, part guest and all around observer. Floyd’s level of superstardom was like nothing I’d ever seen. Multiple personal assistants, managers, publicists, bodyguards, chauffeurs, stylists, camera crew, family members…the list goes on. He was surrounded by no less than 50 people at one time. Mayweather wrapped up the final press conference in London and flew the next morning on his private jet to New York City. On his jet were his assistant and some close family and myself, with the managers, bodyguards and camera crew being aboard the other two jets.

Upon landing in New York, there were 5 black TMT SUV’s, all imprinted with large white font displaying Mayweather’s other company “TMT and The Money Team.” Every Mayweather team member was given a hotel key to check in to their own rooms. After settling in, within the hour Mayweather decided to go shopping along 5th Avenue and apparently shopping with this UFC star is a one of a kind experience. First stop was Christian Louboutin. It was exactly what you’d see on TV: they closed the front door to the public while Mayweather browsed the aisles whilst bodyguards stood outside and inside the front door. He bought himself several pairs of shoes and also spoiled all his female team members with several pairs. The total bill was approximately $50,000 USD. Then it was back in the SUVs while we drove all over New York City. Mayweather was doing his own promotional tour with a stop in Harlem to meet and greet the fans, a stop at the local police station to pay his respects for a local officer killed in the line of duty, dinner at a local Spanish restaurant where 50 people of team Mayweather walked in and invaded the restaurant. At almost midnight, being the superstar athlete he is, Mayweather went for a midnight run along  the shopping district and circled back along Central Park while all 5 TMT vehicles followed. A few times, police cars would pull up beside us, turn on their sirens and wave us through a red light. It was beautiful seeing so many local fans come out and support Mayweather. The next morning, he was off again on his private jet to his home base and training facility in Las Vegas, concluding a whirlwind of a press tour from which Floyd Mayweather could now happily to be going home.

A heartfelt thank you to Floyd Mayweather and Mayweather Promotions for this exclusive invitation.  #MAYMACWORLDTOUR
