Edmonton-based Josh Sahunta off his recent release, Dissonance — available now.

This video speaks volumes to Josh’s incredibly artistic eye; it’s one to see.

An intriguing thriller backing “Sing Me to Life,” you’ll be drawn in by the trifecta that is Josh’s richly talented songwriting, sound, and art direction. Telling the story of a man suffering from chronic anxiety, the video’s protagonist is ultimately rescued but not in the way initially expected.

As for the album itself, each track on Dissonance proves itself worthy of weekend brunch or road trip playlist perfection. The uniquely positioned alt-pop sounds blend catchy choruses with deeply rich narratives that are easily at home alongside the likes of John Mayer to The Neighbourhood to Ed Sheeran to Bleachers.

JOSH SAHUNTA CREATES PURPOSEFUL DISSONANCE IN NEW RELEASE
EDMONTON ARTIST WEAVES SOUND & TALE ON NEW RECORD — AVAILABLE NOW!

Josh Sahunta is one of those creative prodigies who excels at absolutely everything he touches.

A self-taught composer and instrumentalist, the Edmonton-based artist can firmly hold vocalist, songwriter, musician, producer, director, and world-class photographer each to his credit without pause.

Nowhere is this more demonstrated than his new 7-track alt-pop indie release, Dissonance — available now. Track to track, Dissonance brings the listener along on a journey through the deeper layers of life and love; notions of solitude, peace, longing, lust, remorse, regret, and more weave through each lyric and note.

The accompanying video for one such song, “Sing Me to Life” is this delicately layered complexity come to life thanks to Josh’s directorial and visual artistic efforts. Shrouding in mystery and grabbing the viewer from the first frame, “Sing Me to Life” takes you along as efforts to thwart chronic anxiety and angst are ultimately relieved.

Josh Sahunta has competed on Edmonton’s Hot 107 Hot Factor, Canada’s CBC Searchlight, and Britain’s X Factor. He participated in SOCAN’s 2017 Songwriters House for “Summertime” and has been elected to showcase at the Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas City in 2018. Dissonance’s October 2017 album release party was a sold-out affair, with more than 300 fans hitting the live event.
