The 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit might not have been as hogh profile as it could’ve been, but that doesn’t mean the show was a dud! Quite the opposite, vintage cars, pickup trucks and muscle cars are in your garage, thenthis year’s show was for your taste buds.
For 2019, the Chevrolet Silverado gets a redesign. It’s lighter, bigger and more practical inside than before, and it gets a couple of key powertrain upgrades for 2019 – a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.0-litre inline-six Duramax turbodiesel engine.
Proving people still care about cars, Toyota brought out the new Avalon and Ford celebrated Bullitt‘s 50th anniversary with a new Mustang – and dug up the original Mustang from the Steve McQueen movie. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz showcased a “redesigned” G-Class, but it is hard to pick out the changes.
Winner, winner?, though it’s haed to say, but, Volkswagen‘s new Jetta was kind of bland for its own good, the non N-tuned Hyundai Veloster aren’t the fastes cars and Acura‘s RDX comes across as overstyled and questionable, and the new BMW X2 – there’s a division with their opinion on this car. Overall, a lot of variety and the show was busy for a Saturday in Michigan.
